Buckwheat Groats Porridge…the most unappetizing name for a breakfast ever?

DSC_0027nnPerhaps. But it’s filling & darn good for ya. Soak the groats overnight and process in the morning for the porridge consistency. Can’t lie, the buckwheat on it’s own is bland, bland, bland, blah. But toss in natural sweeteners & some topping goodies & you got yourself a bowl’o’goodness. I used maple syrup, chopped prunes, sunflower seeds, sliced strawberries & shredded coconut. Thank you Whole Foods bulk bins.nnPS – Don’t ask why this picture has the bowl looking all ominous. Guess it’s breakfast noir until I get the hang of lighting.
